01 · Operator and notices

Legal identity must be completed before general public launch.

HomeRulebook does not invent an operator identity, notice address or governing-law clause. The production readiness gate blocks a general public launch until the owner supplies and approves those real details and a qualified U.S. lawyer reviews them.

02 · Service

The site organizes public permit information.

HomeRulebook provides informational guides and planning briefs. It does not submit an application, issue an approval, inspect work or establish whether a specific project complies with law.

03 · Your responsibility

Verify before relying on a result.

You are responsible for confirming property jurisdiction, project scope, current codes, contractor eligibility, permit requirements and inspections with the official authority before work begins.

04 · Accuracy and availability

Public information can change without notice.

We work to make sources and review dates visible, but do not promise that every page is complete, current or suitable for a specific property. The site may be changed, corrected or temporarily unavailable.

05 · Free pilot research

The pilot is free and is not a permit or government service.

The $0 pilot provides human review of the submitted jurisdiction, project scope and available official sources for the 410 currently covered jurisdictions. It does not purchase or issue a permit, government approval, legal opinion, engineering review, code-compliance certification or guaranteed parcel-boundary determination.

No card is required. HomeRulebook may limit, pause or decline pilot requests when capacity, unsupported scope, misuse or missing information prevents a responsible review. The status page and PDF show the evidence and limitations that apply to the completed work.

06 · Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service.

• Do not attempt to bypass security or disrupt the website
• Do not submit malicious, unlawful or deceptive material
• Do not submit payment data, identity documents, passwords or highly sensitive personal information
• Do not present HomeRulebook content as an official permit determination
• Do not use automated access in a way that degrades service for others

07 · Project accounts

You control the account and the records you add.

The Home Project Center is an organizational tool, not an official permit record repository. Keep your password and active devices secure, promptly sign out of devices you no longer control, and preserve official originals with the issuing authority or another appropriate records system.

You may delete individual synced projects or the account. Device-local workspace copies are separate from the account and must be removed from that browser separately. HomeRulebook may suspend an account when necessary to contain misuse or a security incident.

08 · Content and license

HomeRulebook keeps its product content; official materials remain with their publishers.

You may use HomeRulebook output for your personal home-project planning. You may not resell, scrape at disruptive volume, remove source attribution from redistributed summaries or imply that HomeRulebook or an official authority endorses your service. Government documents and linked materials remain subject to their publishers’ terms and applicable law.

09 · Suspension and termination

Access may end when the service or its users are at risk.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. HomeRulebook may limit or terminate access for abuse, security risk, unlawful activity or discontinuation of a feature. Provisions about responsibility, intellectual property, limits and disputes survive termination where applicable.

10 · Limit

Use decisions remain with the user and official authority.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, HomeRulebook is not responsible for losses arising from work started without official confirmation, missed approvals, contractor disputes or reliance on incomplete public information.
